Overview 

 In this section, you have learned about buoyancy and how objects float or sink. In this assignment, you will be required to create a video that documents how you would create a boat that would float and withstand a 10 pound weight.

In order to be successful in this assignment, you will need to: 

​

1. Read all instructions, notes on buoyancy, review the rubric, look at examples, and draw a rough plan of activity before construction

2.  design a boat using materials you can find in your home

3. create a video of your boat making/testing process

4. write a 1 page reflection on the entire process

   1. what would you do the same?​

   2. what would you do differently? 

   3. what would make this assignment better?

   4. why did you use the materials you did (ie. were they buoyant, dense, light,etc)

• can my material withstand water?

• Is my material strong enough?

• What makes a boat float? 

• Should I take into account size, color, height, weight?
